Experience an atmospheric evening at Salsta Castle with A Song to Selma —
a musical concert with Sofia Karlsson in an inspiring castle setting. You
choose for yourself whether you want to experience the concert as it is at 20.00 or
let it be a wonderful evening with both dinner and music starting
6 p.m.
This evening is a celebration of Selma Lagerlöf's work and work — a
magical evening in the sign of literature and music. Sofia Karlsson is a
of Sweden's most appreciated live artists, singers and
instrumentalists, known for their interpretations of, among others, Dan Andersson
And most recently Selma Lagerlöf. She has been awarded four Grammys in
Sweden and two in Denmark, as well as several other awards, and in 2025 received
The project A Song for the Selma Selma Lagerlöf Society Scholarship.
The music in the performance is freely based on Selma Lagerlöfs
stories, speeches, poems and letters. Together with the lyricist Johan
Salberg has Sofia Karlsson created themes from Selma's world — always up to date
for man, then as now — take shape in new songs. The work has emerged
for several years and has a special anchor in the place: Johan Salberg
developed parts of the material during their walks around Salsta
castle, in a creative process that ties together the Selma environments of Fryksdalen
with the castle landscape in Uppland. The result is a close and vivid
a concert experience that combines the joy of music, storytelling and an entrance to
Selma Lagerlöf's rich writing world.
